Nigel’s key projects before establishing
include:
Architect planner for the redevelopment of the Epsom Cluster former
Mental Hospitals with more than 2000 houses, healthcare
facilities, a David Lloyd Club and community facilities. Planning
permission was granted in 1997 after 3 years of negotiation on a
package of major planning benefits, agreements with third party
landowners, the highways authority and infrastructure companies.
The project lasted for 10 years and included planning inquiries,
applications, preparation of development briefs and the sale of
sites for development.
Project leader for 200 houses and 1.5 km of the Haywards Heath
Relief Road. The planning application was called in for determination
by the Secretary of State in 2001. Nigel Hartley was the lead planning
and design witness at the public inquiry. Planning permission was
granted in 2003.
Planning and design evidence in numerous planning appeals
and inquiries. Projects included residential, commercial
and healthcare uses.
