Nigel Hartley specialises in design related town planning particularly in housing design. He has particular expertise in housing design and development. He was a speaker at the RTPI annual conference in Cardiff in 2003. Nigel also has considerable experience of development related to conservation areas and listed buildings. He is experienced in setting up and leading teams of specialists including transportation and highways engineers, ground contamination specialists, property lawyers, ecologists and landscape architects.

In addition to his larger projects, Nigel has found soutions to planning problems on smaller projects including medical surgeries and individual houses.

Nigel has appeared as an expert witness at numerous public inquiries giving evidence on town planning and design issues. He has worked closely with specialist planning solicitors and also instructs barristers directly.
